Bertrand Cothonay was a French Dominican priest who was sent to Trinidad in 1882 and was there until 1892. He visited St. Vincent in 1888. His “TRINIDAD Journal d’un Missionaire Dominicain des Antilles Anglaises” of 451 pages was published in Paris in 1893 and gives an account of his activities and descriptions of the places he visited in both Trinidad and St. Vincent. The fifty-five stories in this book are extracts from his Journal and ten relate to St. Vincent, while of the 51 illustrations, 12 are of St. Vincent
